Then all you need is to get traffic to your website and you’ll earn money from people viewing or clicking the advertisements.

When using an email marketing campaign to prospects or customers, there are plenty of issues to consider. The primary consideration is how many emails actually make it to the inbox. One poll conducted by a software company revealed that 58% of email marketers indicated that they had no idea what were their delivery rates. And of the responders that indicated they knew 23% were using a tracking tool to monitor and verify delivery rates. The remainder we basing there delivery rates on guessing, prospect/customer feedback or testing with their own email address.

There are other issues that afflict email marketers such as anti-spam compliance, single and double opt-in methods, text vs. html formats, frequency of sending emails, blacklisting/whitelisting, maintaining relationships with ISP and content.

 To increase your success as an email marketer and not get tagged as a spammer, here are 7 things to remember:        1)   Enhance the start of the relationship by focusing special attention at the beginning because email performance usually declines two months after responders opt-in. Engage your new subscribers immediately in an organized program that include a welcome letter, a copy of the latest newsletter or promotion and emails offering a set of best-newsletter articles or an email-exclusive offer for new subscribers. It is important to manage the subscriber’s expectation from the start by adequately explaining the email program’s value proposition, frequency, type of content and privacy policies. 2)      Segmentation and personalization are probably the most underutilized keys to email marketing. Your email is competing with many others in your subscriber’s inbox. Personalized subject lines, offers, articles, products showcased and follow up emails based on recipient activity, are clear winners. It is critical that you begin this process even if it is only personalizing the content of the subject line.3)       Many email marketers spend plenty of time building relationships with ISPs,  and putting things in place so their emails get to the inbox however in vain, because most final gateway such as Hotmail, Yahoo, Outlook, Gmail, etc have filters stopping unknown senders. To stop this, it is important to get your recipient to add you to their safe list.4)      Get and confirm permission from your subscribers is the pinnacle to a successful email marketing campaign. Capturing the opt-in and confirming it with a follow-up email is the best practice and one which the email industry is adopting. 5)      As the inbox gets more crowded with spam, your users are looking for relevant content. The age of email blasting is over. Send valuable, informational content. Avoid promotional words and phases, multiple exclamation points, all capitol letters and text often used by spammers. Nothing can trigger subscriber dissatisfaction like continued emails that do not meet subscriber’s expectations in terms of content and frequency. 6)      It is your responsibility as an email marketer for handling unsubscribe requests promptly. You should also set a process to enable your subscribers to update their preferences and email address without having to jump through a series of hoops. 7)      Always test your email marketing campaign. A strategy that worked six months ago, may not work today. You must continuously tweak your format, design, copy style, calls to action, subject lines segmentation content, days/times sent, etc. Start with simple A/B split tests and repeat a few times to verify your results. 

Focus on what really matters when setting up your email campaign. When you use these best practices within your email marketing program, both you and your subscribers will win.

More and more people are choosing to work from home. Some advantages people start an online business includes the ability to spend more quality time with the family and there is no need to commute to and from work. However, ninety percent fail after their first year and ninety percent of the remaining fail in the next four years.

The first thing you must do when thinking about an online business is to figure out your WHY. Setting goals is one part of planning for success but you’re WHY is the reason you keep going. Many people quit because their WHY is not a strong enough reason for doing the business. A strong WHY is your foundation for a successful work from home business.

The biggest problem when people decide to work from home is the one or more family members, relative or friends that will not want you to succeed. They will criticize and complain and try to change your mind. This happens to everyone. Surround yourself with people of like mind. Network with those who have the same online business interests as you and have a WHY that will keep you going through anything including the criticism of a loved one.

Some people, when trying to find their why usually want to pay off their house or a new car. But your why is never money or goals. It is about what you really want. What situation in life you want to get out of so that it doesn’t happen again. It’s about who you really are. It is a burning desire that is much more than money. If your why is an 80% and you come up against a barrier with an 82%, you will give up. But when your why is 99.9%, you will be successful in your online business

Ask yourself when looking for your WHY, what do you really like? What don’t you like?

What do you get excited about? What makes you afraid? If you had all the money you want, what would you do? What would you do if you had all the free time you wanted?

What do you hate about your life that money can solve?

There is no question the new way to market your home based business on the internet is with web 2.0.  It allows you and your prospects to be more interactive and makes it far easier to build those vital relationships.  So how can you market your business using web 2.0?

One of the easiest methods is through word of mouth.  Write an article that explains the details of a product or the history and services offered by your company and submit it to Wikipedia.  If it is of interest, it will be accepted and you will have an article on one of the most searched web sites on the internet.

The next method is creating a blog connected to your site.  This is a great way to interact with visitors and show your true side as oppose to the business side.  If you can build a relationship while offering informative details about your company, you are sure to win over some people.

More and more people are turning to YouTube for marketing as well.  If you can create a short video advertising your online business opportunity and the various features it has to offer, you will entice a certain number of people enough to reel them in to your site.

Lastly, try offering RSS feeds or news feeds to visitors on your site.  This will make your site a little more interactive and give them another reason to come back again.  The more you have to offer your visitors the more likely they are to make a purchase and tell their friends about your site.

The new fad for internet marketing is web 2.0 causing many to have to redesign their web site.  Because the internet is constantly evolving and changing, it is nothing new that web 2.0 has caused a change for many people’s sites.  But how should your web site be designed for this new piece to internet marketing?

Much like your old web site, you want to keep it as simple as possible.  Just because you want to make it more interactive with videos and audio does not mean you want to bombard visitors with these features.  If there are too many videos and flashing banners you will only turn your visitors away.  Keep it simple!

One thing you may want to add to your new internet marketing web site for web 2.0 is sections for people to easily navigate through.  This does not mean put all of your videos at the bottom and all of the content at the top.  It is fine mixing the different features together, but put pieces of information together that make sense.  Then, maybe spice up the site a little with different colors for different sections so it is easy to navigate through.

Finally, add large bold logos to your site to help draw the attention to various facets of the site.  The goal of web 2.0 is making your site more interactive and creating a statement with various pieces to the site.  If you can draw visitors’ attention to certain facet, you will have done your job with the internet marketing web site.

One of the worst mistakes new entrepreneurs make when starting a blog or home business is waiting to launch it.  There is nothing good that comes from waiting to launch your new business or blog.  Instead, why not earn as you learn the system.

What you will come to learn is your web site will never be fully completed and your blog constantly needs to be updated.  By postponing the premier of your site you are just taking away potential earnings you could have.  This is valuable money you could be making.

It is understandable to be nervous of what people will think of your site before it has been further developed.  But if you use web 2.0 marketing, you have the chance to get feedback from those who have been to your site.  This will allow you to make adjustments and approve the site more to the visitors liking. 

The worst thing that can come from launching a home business too soon is you will be critiqued by visitors.  The thing is you will be critiqued the entire time you have a web site whether it is the best on the internet or the worst.  Therefore, there is no such thing as launching a web site too soon

If you truly want to benefit from internet marketing, earn as you learn.  You will constantly be learning what people want and how to please your target market.  So launch that web site or blog and begin earning income while you learn the business.

If you have been watching the news, the US stock market continues to reflect the volatility of their economy resulting in the US dollar taking a beating on the world market. However business on the internet is not even affected. Marketers who own an online business know while talk of a recession is swirling about, people still need to buy things.
